DINNERPLATE / LOCAL VIDEO EDITOR

Terms of Use

Please read these terms before using the tools.

Effective October 15, 2026 · Last updated October 18, 2026

dinnerplate and its video, photo, audio, Notes, and 3D Modeler apps are independent tools maintained by yapperyap. Contact: yapperyapemail@proton.me. Using the site is subject to these terms. The Privacy Notice explains data handling.

1. Using the tools

You may use the tools for lawful personal or commercial work, subject to these terms and any applicable third-party software licenses. You must have the legal capacity, or permission from a parent or guardian where applicable, to use the service. Do not use it to violate another person's privacy, intellectual-property rights, or other legal rights; create or distribute unlawful content; circumvent access controls; or disrupt the site or its hosting infrastructure.

The site is not directed to children under 13. Any eligibility rules imposed by the hosting provider or a linked service also apply to that service.

2. Your files and your responsibilities

You retain your rights in your files and outputs. Selecting media does not grant the maintainer ownership or permission to publish it. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to import, edit, record, use, and share media, voices, images, text, music, and custom fonts. Make sure recordings comply with consent laws that apply to you.

Check the accuracy, quality, timing, accessibility, and rights status of outputs before relying on or distributing them. Browser-based device tests are informal checks, not a certified diagnosis, safety certification, or guarantee that hardware works correctly. These tools do not provide legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.

3. Local processing, storage, and backups

Tool processing runs on your device. The application does not upload selected media or tool inputs for processing. The editor apps may save projects, media, layers, and fonts in this browser. Project switching also keeps the current work in the local project list; explicit project operations may save even when automatic background saving is disabled. Turning off autosave does not erase existing saved projects. Files can be lost through browser cleanup, private browsing, storage eviction, device failure, a software error, or an interrupted export. You are responsible for retaining original files, project downloads, and backups.

Video project JSON contains editing instructions and media references, so reopening it may require relinking original media and fonts. Media-inclusive video backups (.dinnerbackup) contain the project and available media, fonts, and proxies. Editable photo projects (.dinnerphoto) contain raster layer images, editing metadata, and included custom fonts. These downloads are not encrypted by the application. The Download Local Version ZIP contains the application, not your projects or settings. Keep private backups secure and review exports for sensitive content and metadata. Format support, memory capacity, performance, and export quality depend on the file, browser, operating system, and device. Conversion and export can use substantial memory and CPU and may fail or drop frames.

The Notes notebook also persists pages and Trash in browser storage. Export notebooks to retain independent copies. Audio-project backups include the available source recordings and editing instructions; WAV export contains the rendered mix. Notes and audio data are subject to the same local storage, security, backup, and device-limit considerations above.

3D models and manufacturing

3D Modeler creates and edits meshes; vertex deletion, intersections, or imported geometry can create open, self-intersecting, or otherwise unsuitable surfaces. Mesh checks are limited diagnostics, not engineering or manufacturing certification. Verify dimensions, units, tolerances, wall thickness, material, supports, and machine settings in the target application and slicer. Model exports are not machine instructions or G-code. Do not rely on generated designs for safety-critical or regulated uses without appropriate independent professional review.

4. Availability and changes

The tools are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Features, supported formats, limits, and availability may change. The maintainer may suspend or discontinue the site, including in response to abuse, security concerns, hosting requirements, or legal obligations. There is no promise of uninterrupted service, permanent availability, technical support, or compatibility with every device or file.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, no express or implied warranty is made, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. No representation is made that the software or outputs will be error-free or suitable for a specific purpose.

5. Limits on responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the maintainer is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of, or inability to use, the tools, including loss of files, data, profits, or business opportunities. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence where it cannot lawfully be excluded, or any liability or consumer right that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited.

6. Software, fonts, and external services

Third-party code, fonts, and libraries remain subject to their own licenses. Those licenses control where they conflict with these terms and preserve the rights they grant you. See Software Notices for license texts, credits, and upstream source/build links.

Links to GitHub, Ko-fi, the hosting provider, and other external services are provided for convenience. Their availability and practices are controlled by those services, and their terms and privacy notices apply. Inclusion of a link does not imply affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement.

7. Voluntary contributions

The Ko-fi link lets you voluntarily support development. A contribution does not purchase access, a guaranteed feature, support, a service level, or ownership in the project unless a separate offer expressly states otherwise. Contributions are not represented as tax-deductible charitable donations. Review the terms shown by Ko-fi and the payment provider before paying. For contribution questions or refund requests, contact yapperyapemail@proton.me; any mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.

8. Copyright, safety, and accessibility concerns

For a copyright concern about material actually published on this site, email the contact below with the exact page URL, identification of the protected work, an explanation of your rights or authority, and a way to respond. Do not attach private user media. This contact is not represented as a registered DMCA agent or a guarantee of statutory safe-harbor status. The application does not host user-selected media for public sharing and cannot remove files stored only on another person’s device. False or abusive complaints may have legal consequences.

Use audio and visual tools at a safe playback level. Device tests and generated captions are approximate; review their results. Do not rely on the tools for emergencies or safety-critical decisions. Please report accessibility barriers; see the Accessibility statement and Security reporting page.

9. Concerns, changes, and applicable rights

For a privacy, security, accessibility, copyright, or other legal concern, contact yapperyapemail@proton.me. Describe the issue and include the relevant page or feature. Do not send passwords or sensitive files. Please allow a reasonable opportunity to investigate and respond.

Revised terms will be posted here with an updated date and apply prospectively. If you do not agree to the terms, stop using the site. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. These terms do not replace mandatory local law, limit your right to contact a regulator, or impose mandatory arbitration.
